Solar panels have no moving parts, but a little care keeps them producing the maximum energy year after year.

Clean the panels regularly. Dust, bird droppings and leaves block sunlight and reduce output. In dusty areas, clean every two to four weeks using plain water and a soft brush or cloth. Avoid harsh detergents and high-pressure jets, and clean early in the morning or evening when the panels are cool.

Watch for shading. New construction, growing trees or objects placed on the roof can shade part of the array and lower generation. Keep the area around the panels clear.

Monitor generation. Most inverters show daily and monthly energy output. A sudden drop compared to similar weather days can indicate dirt, shading or a fault.

Inspect wiring and mounting. Check for loose cables, damaged conduits or rust on the mounting structure, especially after storms.

Schedule periodic professional checks. A qualified technician can inspect the inverter, connections, earthing and protection devices to keep the system safe and efficient. EcoXone Energie Solutions provides support for the systems we install.
